The Last to Go

Out of stock - dispatches within 5-7 business days

A virus has wiped out most of the world’s population, while changing others into scarecrows, predators who stand silently in the fields during the day and attack at night.

Icarus and Charlton try to maintain a semblance of a normal life on a sugarcane farm in tropical North Queensland, supported by other survivors in their area. Charlie is at home on the farm, but Rus, who sees the world in symbols and colours, longs to return to the south and find a sense of belonging. Tension forms between the two, made worse by the arrival of Adam – a charming and manipulative ex-solider who hides dark secrets.

As the crows surround the farmhouse, and the things they love are taken away from them, Rus and Charlie navigate their relationship and survival, while trying to work out what it means to be human in a dying world.
