This book is the result of nearly a decade of working on regional and remote Aboriginal communities, consulting, and conversing with community accepted Elders and healers. Valerie Albrecht, whose background is in speech pathology, brings these conversations to us more or less as transcribed, resulting in a text containing ancient wisdom and its approaches to health, well-being and healing, along with counsel to Western practitioners about working productively and respectfully with Aboriginal communities in health-related matters.

The conversation sites in this book are the Western Desert, The Pilbara, New South Wales (Dubbo), and Central Australia.
